Blackberry Curve 8520 White

White Blackberry Curve Review
With the BlackBerry Curve 8520 White you get an entry-level smartphone that has plenty of features but may lack a lot of the fancy applications that so many smartphones are offering today. Some of what you won’t get with the white BlackBerry Curve is a built in GPS system, or a high-resolution screen.
What you do get with the new white BlackBerry Curve 8520 is a compact and sleek design, and all the core functions of a smartphone, along with fantastic performance. One of the great things you will find as part of the BlackBerry Curve 8520 white design is the optical trackpad and dedicated media controls.
There is no doubt that you’ll get an attractive mobile phone with the BlackBerry Curve 8520 in white; it measures 4.3 inches tall by 2.3 inches wide by 0.5 inch thick and weighs only 3.7 ounces.
Taking into consideration that the white BlackBerry Curve is a low-end model smartphone it isn’t too surprising that it doesn’t feature a high-resolution screen. What you get is a 2.46-inch TFT display shows 65,000 colors at a 320×240 pixel resolution. Obviously you are not going to get the quality picture that you would from a better display, but it does still provide a fairly clear and crisp picture. The brightness and font sizes are adjustable, which could help offset the lack of higher resolution.
Sending and receiving email and text messages with the BlackBerry Curve 8520 is made easier with its full QWERTY keyboard; the keys are spaced a little close together so if you have large fingers it will take some getting accustomed to.
Although the BlackBerry Curve 8520 White doesn’t come with 3G or GPS, it does come with a number of useful features. Included with this handset are quad-band world roaming, a speakerphone, and voice-activated dialing, as well as smart dialing. You will also get conference calling, speed dial, and text messaging, in addition to multimedia messaging, and Bluetooth 2.0. Of course you can also send and receive POP3 email, as well as web based email. With the BlckBerry Curve there is support for Instant Messaging with Yahoo, AIM, Windows Live, Google Talk, and ICQ.
For those who need to use their phone for work, there is also a document viewer for Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Corel WordPerfect, as well as PDF. You can also view JPEG, GIF formats, and more. It is also very easy to download additional applications, such as Facebook and MySpace, as well as games.
Considering it is a low-end smartphone, there is no doubt that the BlackBerry Curve 8520 White is really a very nice phone. The only real problem being that for its class, it is slightly overpriced, though there is a BlackBerry Curve 8520 White pay as you go model.
