Blackberry Curve 8900 Review

The BlackBerry Curve 8900 is a solid smartphone bringing several improvements over the Curve 8300 series. With the BlackBerry 8900 Curve, you get a sleek design and an even more solid construction than its predecessors. This mobile phone features an incredibly sharp display, as well as a faster processor, and a full HTML browser, in addition to a 3.2-megapixel camera.

With the BlackBerry Curve you also get integrated Wi-Fi with UMA support. This feature allows the user to make unlimited calls over a Wi-Fi network.

The BlackBerry Curve 8900 is very thin, but still features a full QWERTY keypad. This mobile phone measures 4.2 inches tall by 2.3 inches wide by 0.5 inch thick and weighs only 3.8 ounces. This phone is small enough to fit into your pockets, but still offers features that make using this phone simple and fun.

With the BlackBerry 8900 Curve you get a 2.4-inch TFT LCD with support for 65,536 colors at a 480×360-pixel resolution. This display really gives you a great viewing experience for pictures and web browsing.

Additionally, you will also get the latest BlackBerry operating system that provides the user a modern, updated interface. With the new operating system, the interface just looks more pleasing to the eye, but the one problem that you may come across is distinguishing icons, as many of them are very similar.

The BlackBerry Curve 8900 features some great applications, such as a viewer for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. One of the updates with the new BlackBerry Curve is that now users will also have the ability to edit their Word documents, as well as Excel, and PowerPoint.

Some of the additional applications you’ll get with the 8900 include a calendar, a task list, a memo pad, a voice recorder, plus much more. Basically, if you are looking for extras from your mobile phone, there is no doubt you’ll find them with the BlackBerry Curve 8900, including everything from new games, to applications to help the professional.

The 8900 BlackBerry Curve offers some good voice features that include a speakerphone, and voice-activated dialing, smart dialing, and conference calling. You also get speed dial, text and multimedia messaging.

Another popular feature of the BlackBerry Curve 8900 is it’s built in GPS that features maps and text based, as well as turn-by-turn driving directions with applications like BlackBerry Maps.

For music, you get a built in music player that supports a variety of file formats including, MP3, WMA9/WMA9 Pro/WMA20, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, AMR-NB, and MIDI music files, and MPEG4, WMV, DivX4. You also get a fairly good 3.2-megapixel camera, in addition to video recording capability.

One of the biggest disappointments of the 8900 BlackBerry Curve is its lack of 3G, but there is no doubt that it is a major improvement over previous models. Not only does it offer a better design, but it performs better and offers some great features.
