Blackberry Storm 9500 Review

The BlackBerry Storm 9500 is a mobile phone that is designed for both, personal and business use. One of the big innovations of the BlackBerry Storm is a touchscreen. Like many modern mobile handsets, this one has a front that is almost entirely taken up by its screen.

With the BlackBerry Storm 9500 pay as you go phone you get a screen that measures 3.25-inches across and features a 480×360 pixel resolution. The display on this phone sports a sharp and clear picture, a feature that not all mobile phones can accomplish. Many of the functions of this phone are done through the touchscreen, and fortunately it is touch sensitive, so once you get the hang of it, it’s fairly easy.

The one problem that is obvious with the touchscreen of the BlackBerry Storm 9500 is that it isn’t as fast as some other phones. When trying to do many things in succession there is some lag.

Although the BlackBerry Storm does come with 3G capabilities, there is no Wi-Fi, which is a little disheartening. The lack of Wi-Fi may be something that keeps this phone from being as popular as it could be.

On the upside this phone does come with built in GPS that includes BlackBerry Maps and, Google Maps. In addition, there is also some great social networking applications included with the BlackBerry Storm 9500 pay as you go. You’ll find Facebook, Flickr, as well as YouTube.

Included with the BlackBerry Storm 9500 is a 3.2-megapixel camera. Along with stills, this camera also has the capability of shooting video, which is great if you are on the go and want to get some video footage. You can also use the built in GPS to geotag photos, which is fun. A drawback is that there is no front facing camera to allow for video calling, which is unfortunate as this is something that is becoming increasingly popular.

With the BlackBerry Storm you also get a music player and 1 GB of internal memory, but there is also the option of expanding memory with a microSD card. Combined, this should be more than enough memory for just about everyone’s needs.

For the business minded, you can stay in touch with corporate and POP email easily, but if you do intend to use this mobile for business, the lack of Wi-Fi may be a deal breaker, as this is one of the most important features of mobile phone today, especially for the busy professional.

Aside from this, the BlackBerry Storm 9500 is a good choice. It has some great hardware, as well as a fantastic design that is sleek, stylish, but still fun. In addition, the many features of this phone make it one of the better choices on the market today.
