Nexus One
Although smartphones have been around for a while now the entry of Google smartphones into the marketplace has only been quite recent. It has, however, quickly become very popular with its handsets all running Google’s own unique operating system (OS) known as Android, which has been designed to provide users with faster and easier control of their handset.
The next addition to the Google smartphone range is the Google Nexus One and as well as having a sleek and slimline design the Nexus One now comes with an updated version of the Android OS, which is claimed to be even faster and more user-friendly. Early reports of the new Google Nexus 1 show that T-Mobile will be the first and possibly the only network provider to offer the new Nexus One handset but as with the Apple iPhone this may change at some point after the Google Nexus One is released into the market.

What will the benefits of the new Nexus1 be?
Information regarding the new Google Nexus 1 is currently quite limited as Google appears to be keeping most of the features a secret until it is released. There is, however a small amount of information appearing on a number of websites that provide a sneak preview of what is to come.
Pictures of the new Nexus One appear to show a very simplistic handset that looks to be very slimline and is sleek and stylish in design with a large display covering most of the handset. The large display and lack of buttons indicate that the main controls will be found on-screen and will be touch-sensitive, allowing users a great potential viewing area for the various features the phone will undoubtedly offer.
Most of the great features that will come with the Google Nexus One are likely to be attributed to the new and updated Android 2.1 OS, which will provide users with a range of new features that will include a 3D application tray, more homescreens so users can access multiple applications at the same time and a new grid icon that will bring up a webOS card-style preview of everything that is currently open. The Nexus One will also come with facilities like Wi-Fi access, Google Navigation and an updated version of Google Goggles, which allows users to use the camera on the Google Nexus one to find information about the local area.
Who will get the most out of the Nexus one?
With so little known about the new Nexus 1 it is difficult to work out exactly who Google is targeting as its customer base, although based on similar phones the Nexus 1 is likely to appeal to users who are looking for a new alternative to the iPhone or the HTC range of smartphones. The unique Android OS that comes with the Nexus One is definitely a selling point for many users who are looking for a smartphone that is faster and easier to use and from what has been seen so far the Google Nexus 1 will almost definitely offer all this and maybe even more.
