HTC HD2 Review

The HTC HD2 is a mobile phone that has a lot to offer the user, but if you are searching for a compact handset you’ll want to look elsewhere as the size of this phone is anything but small. On the upside you do get a massive, capacitive screen, which may make the size of this phone only a minor setback.

The HTC HD2 measures 120.5 X 67 X 11mm, which may be a good size for surfing the web, sending email and viewing video, but if you actually talk on the phone you’ll quickly discover that it gets a bit uncomfortable fairly quickly. If the size of this phone doesn’t bother you, there is no doubt that you’ll be thrilled with the huge, 4.3-inch screen. With this touchscreen you get a bright and colorful picture, plus a very responsive screen that makes using it a pleasure.

Aside from its unusually large size there is no denying that the HTC Touch HD2 is a high quality device that offers the user some really great features. For connectivity you get support for HSDPA, as well as WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS for satellite navigation. For surfing the Internet the HTC HD2 comes with support for Opera browser, which loads web pages fast so that browsing the internet is a pleasant experience as apposed to frustrating. Though it may not be quite as fast as the iPhone browser, it is very close.

With such a large display and a virtual QWERTY keypad typing out text messages and email is simple and fast, especially as this touchscreen is very responsive. The camera that comes with the HD2 is a 5-megapixel shooter with auto focus and dual LED. By all rights this camera should take some really great pictures, but in practice the pictures have some color issues, though the picture itself is very sharp. In addition to the main camera, there is a secondary camera included for video calling.

The call quality of the HTC HD2 is good, with calls being loud and crystal clear. When using the different applications on this phone there is very little, if any lag, so even when using multiple applications this phone should perform quickly and efficiently.

If you like the Windows Mobile platform, there is no doubt that the HTC HD2 is the best smartphone available that features Windows Mobile. Many people do not care too much for the Windows Mobile operating system, and in reality this phone would have been better without it, but it is still a very high quality smartphone.

For those that don’t mind its size, this is a great phone that offers the user just about every feature that comes with the high-end mobile phones of today. Getting HTC HD2 deals isn’t too difficult if you decide to buy this phone on contract, though it can be pricey if you purchase an unlocked version.
