HTC Magic Phone Review

The HTC Magic is a stylish smartphone that comes loaded with features that includes an intuitive interface. There is no doubt that this mobile phone can compete against similar smartphones in its class.

With the HTC Magic phone you get a 3.2-inch HVGA touch screen along with a trackball navigator, but unfortunately this phone doesn’t have a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. What you will get is a quad band smartphone that offers a variety of e-mail options like Gmail and POP3 as well as IMAP accounts. This mobile phone will support Google applications like Google Maps and Google Search. In addition, you also have the ability to download more applications and games to this phone.

Some of the other extras that come with the HTC Touch Magic include a web browser, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi, HSDPA/WCDMA (900/2100MHz), in addition to a 3.2-megapixel camera.

The phone measures 4.65 inches tall by 2.19 inches wide by 0.65 inches deep and weighing 4.09 ounces. The HTC Magic is compact and easy to slip into your pocket or handbag, which makes carrying it with you no problem at all.

With the 3.2-inch touch screen, you get a bright 480×320-pixel HVGA display that is sharp and clear, showing photos magnificently. With the display you also get a customizable brightness setting, as well as adjustable backlighting.

Some of the more basic features of the HTC Magic include a calculator, an alarm clock, a calendar, as well as text and multimedia messaging, and speaker-independent voice dialing. In addition to these features you also get YouTube, Wi-Fi, and USB mass storage, not to mention GPS with Google Maps integration, and of course, Google Talk.

The music player of the HTC Magic isn’t the most advanced available but you do get playlists, shuffle, repeat, in addition to an airplane mode. With this music player you have a choice of either loading your own music or buying songs from the Amazon MP3 store.

Along with the music player you can also record and playback video. The 3.2-megapixel, camera doesn’t really have much in the way of editing features, but overall this phone camera does take some good pictures.

The call performance of the HTC Touch Magic is great; in most cases the person you are talking to on the other end will not even be able to tell you are on a mobile phone. One problem with this smartphone is its lack of messaging capabilities. You do get access to Gmail and Google Talk, as well as access to most POP3 accounts, but full Microsoft Exchange Server support is something that the phone doesn’t have.

There HTC Magic is a step forward in mobile technology. With a fantastic design and a line of great features, there is some real potential for the future of this mobile device in the world of smartphones.
