HTC Tattoo

HTC Tattoo Review
HTC is a company known for their high-end android phones, but with the launch of the HTC Tattoo, there is an android phone within almost everyone’s budget. This new smartphone from HTC comes in four different colors including graphite, black, brown and white. Due to the fact that this is marketed as a mid range phone, the cost of the HTC Tattoo is much more affordable that other HTC smartphones.
The design of the HTC Tattoo is one of its strongest features. This is a sleek and stylish phone that offers the option of changing the back plate for a more personalized appearance. The Tattoo is constructed from high quality glossy plastic that gives it a rich look and feel. The phone’s size is medium to small, and features a display that is 2.8-inches, which is a little on the small side, but adequate. You also get a touchscreen with the HTC Tattoo and beneath the screen are keys to navigate between Home, Menu, Back, Search, plus keys to Accept and Reject calls.
Due to the fact that this phone is offered at a lower price it is only to be expected that the touchscreen would not offer quite the functionality of other HTC phones such as the HTC Hero, or Touch Pro. The touchscreen of the HTC Tattoo lacks multi-touch support and the accelerometer function. Visibility of the display isn’t too bad outdoors, but in direct sunlight it may be somewhat of a problem. Aside from a few drawbacks to the display in the form of quality, features and size, the picture quality of the HTC Tattoo screen is really very good.
The HTC Tattoo does come with a 3-megapixel camera, but it lacks a lot of the extras you might find with the high-end phones, such as auto focus and flash. The picture quality of the camera is basic to poor. Often the pictures are blurry unless you hold perfectly still while taking the picture, and you have good lighting.
As for communication features the HTC Tattoo isn’t lacking in this area. You get all the latest in communication technology including GPRS and EDGE, HSDPA 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA 384 Kbps, WiFi 802.1, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, miniUSB 2.0. You will also find that this phone has great Internet and messaging capabilities such as SMS, EMS, and MMS text features. Another great feature that is included with the HTC Tattoo is built in GPS.
For the music lover there is a built in FM radio, as well as a MP3 player that supports a variety of file formats, including MP3, AAC, AAC+, WMA, MPEG4, WAV, MIDI, and Real Audio, as well as Ogg.
Although the HTC Tattoo is missing many of the features you’ll find with other HTC smartphones, it does offer a great value for your money, plus it comes in a compact and stylish design. One of the best places to search for great HTC Tattoo deals is online at one of the many vendors that market HTC mobiles.
