HTC 3G Touch Review

The HTC Touch 3G is a compact and smart looking mobile phone that supports HSDPA, along with built in GPS. One of the best things about the Touch 3G is that it is an affordable smartphone that can easily be bought at a mid range price.

There is no doubt that the HTC 3G Touch is compact enough to make it easy to carry around in your pocket or handbag. You’ll find that this phone is sleeker than the Touch HD, as well as many other mobile phones with similar features. The Touch 3G comes in a plastic finish that has the appearance of being metallic; in addition, this phone’s curved edges give it that classy look you just can’t get with the bulkier phones.

The HTC Touch 3G does feature a beautiful screen, although by smartphone standards, it is a little small, but even though the display is a slightly smaller, you can still view text and graphics with no problems. Where there may be a problem with the display size is when the user is viewing web pages or documents. The smaller dimensions do tend to pose a problem when doing this.

The HTC Touch 3G pay as you go mobile phone uses Microsoft’s Windows Mobile operating system with HTC’s TouchFlo finger friendly interface, but unlike the Touch HD, it is not in 3D, and though this may take something away from the appearance of the interface, it is a lot easier and more practical to use.

With this smartphone you get support for cut and paste, in addition to the Office Mobile suite of applications, which means that you view and edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents. You also get the Opera web browser preinstalled, which is faster, as well as easier to use than mobile Internet Explorer. As this phone supports both HSDPA and Wi-Fi you will find that even when you are not right next to a hot spot your web pages will load fast.

Some additional applications that you’ll find with the HTC Touch 3G include a dedicated YouTube viewer, an RSS reader, as well as Google Maps. The Google Maps feature can be used with the integrated GPS receiver to identify your position. One of the drawbacks of the Touch 3G is that there is no other navigation software included.

You will find that the HTC 3G Touch does come with a 3.2-megapixel, camera but it is basic at best. There is no flash option so photographs will not come on very good if taken in low lighting; even those taken outdoors during the day tend to have the colors looking faded.

The HTC Touch 3G is a very compact mobile phone that packs a lot of features, but some problems like that small screen will have to be considered if you intend to purchase this phone. The nearest smartphone to the Touch 3G in price range is the iPhone, which does provide a better user experience.
