It has been announced that HTC is planning to launch a new smart phone for the budget minded user, which should be available in the UK and some other European countries from April.

As most people know owning a smart phone can be a very expensive affair, and for some people the cost of these devices puts them out of reach. At the same time smart phones can offer the ultimate in modern design, advanced technology, practicality, and invaluable features, which is why so many people are keen to get their hands on these handsets.

There could be some good news for consumers that want to own a smart phone but do not think that they can afford one. It has been announced that HTC is set to launch a budget smart phone in the UK and several other European destinations in April of this year. According to reports the HTC Smart, which is the name of the budget handset, will cost around the half the price of many other higher priced smart phones.

Reports claim that the HTC Smart will be launched in the UK, Ireland, and Germany in April of this year through an exclusive deal with the mobile network provider O2, which was the first exclusive provider of the highly popular smart phone, the Apple iPhone. It will be offered on an exclusive basis for an undisclosed period according to the report.

An official from O2 said that the HTC Smart was about offering the practicality of a smart phone at an affordable price.

He stated: “The typical Smart customer is likely to be young, probably doesn’t have a credit card. So this phone really is about breaking down the barrier of affordability. It also takes away the barrier of complexity, by providing a simple customer experience.”
