A decision by Apple to ban some adult based apps from iPhones has sparked anger amongst iPhone developers, who have accused Apple of being unfair with regards to choosing which apps to remove.

King of the smart phones Apple has recently decided to remove thousands of adults based apps from the apps store according to a recent report. However, this decision to ban these adult apps has been met with anger from iPhone developers, who are claiming that the company is being unfair in deciding which of the adult apps it is banning from the store.

Whilst thousands of the adults apps have been removed from the iPhone apps store since the end of last week there are some that have not been removed, such as one Playboy one. Officials from Apple have said that some of the apps that have been removed were banned because of complaints from consumers. However, developers have said that Apple is playing with its livelihoods by pulling apps that had previously been approved.

Officials from Apple said that they had to take action in cases where complaints had been received over the adult apps, with one official stating: “It came to the point where we were getting customer complaints from women who found the content getting too degrading and objectionable, as well as parents who were upset with what their kids were able to see.”

However, Apple also said that the decision on whether or not to pull the apps was also based on how well know the company was and whether the company had previously published material. One developer was angry about this, stating: “I’m now worried the eco-system is run by puritans and is not fair to all players. And worst of all it is not a secure source of income. It can drop to close to zero if they decide to change the rules.”
