Figures have revealed that the popular Apple iPhone enjoyed becoming the most searched for product in the UK earlier this month with 1.75 percent of all product searches being for the iPhone.

Most people are already well aware of how popular the Apple iPhone has become, with both the 3G and the 3GS versions being highly popular with consumers and business users. Recently the popularity of this device has been further reflected through the number of searched that were carried out for the Apple iPhone earlier this month, giving it the honour of being the most searched for product in the UK.

During the week ending December 5th over fourteen percent of all mobile searches were for the Apple iPhone. In total Apple iPhones accounted for 1.75 percent of all searches in total, as consumers rushed to try and get good deals on the handsets. There is set to be a surge in Apple iPhone users as a result of the device becoming available through a greater number of providers, and it seems that people are already comparing prices and looking for great deals.

Apple also took the second place when it came for the most searched for product, with the Apple iPod coming in at second place with 1.29 percent of all product searches. The figures were compiled by Hitwise, and seem to indicate that a lot of people will be finding products manufactured by Apple underneath their Christmas trees on the big day.

In general there was an increase in visits to consumer electronic websites this year, and once again consumers were looking for bargains to pick up as Christmas gifts for their loved ones.
