iPhone to get new shopping app from Tesco
By Rob Webber on 13th September - No Comments

As well as offering a range of apps for the iPhone including Winefinder and the Clubcard apps, which have already hit a million downloads, the supermarket giant Tesco has announced that it will now be offering users its first ever shopping app.

The creation of a shopping portal that is specifically designed for the iPhone is a first for Tesco making this latest announcement a landmark achievement for the supermarket chain.

The CEO for Tesco.com, Laura Wade-Gery advised “We’re always looking for ways to make life easier for customers. The iPhone app creates a fantastic new way to shop with tesco.com whenever you want, whether you’re adding last minute essentials or starting a new order.”

Customers will now be able to use their iPhones to ‘shop on the go’ with the aid of the new Tesco shopping app and will even be able to access their favourites, which are any items they have purchased from a store with their clubcard or online, or the entire product range of their home store.

The new app will allow customers to log into their Tesco grocery account and either start a brand new order or add items to the basket that they had previously forgotten. Once completed, customers will be able to either check out online later or use the app to check out securely directly from their iPhone. The new app is ideal for adding the last few essential items as it synchronises seamlessly between orders on a computer and those in the app or vice versa.

The app has been designed and developed by the mobile specialists Ribot which has been working closely with Tesco and it is available for downloading free of charge on the Apple iTunes store.
