It has been announced by the Norwegian browser company Opera that it is waiting on Apple to approve its new mini browser for the Apple iPhone.

The Norwegian browse company Opera has recently announced that it has developed a mini version of its Opera browser for mobile phones, and that it is now awaiting approval from Apple with regards to providing the mini browser as an application for the popular Apple iPhone.

It is claimed that the Opera Mini is ready to be launched and offered as an iPhone app subject to approval by Apple. The browser is set to be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress, which is set to take place next week, and according to reports the mini browser could boast a range of features that smart phone users may find invaluable.

Tap browsing, password management, speed dial, and compression technology are all features that the current Apple Safari browser does not offer, but these features are said to be part of the Opera Mini browser. Reports claim that because the technology that is used by Opera is not yet supported by the iPhone the browser company has had to make adaptations to fir in with the iPhone before submission of the browser for consideration.

Reports also claim that the Opera browser is around six hundred times faster than the browsing solution that is currently used by Apple. However, there has been no official confirmation reported with regards to Apple considering the Opera browser for the iPhone as yet. Some reports have suggested that the submission for approval may not yet have been made and that Apple may not provide approval for the browser, but this is something that iPhone users will have to wait and see.
