Following reports that a rival smart phone manufacturer may be taking legal action over the sale of the iPhone 5 in the UK, there is speculation over whether the long awaited smart phone will make it to the UK.
There are many people, especially fans of Apple and its iPhone series, who will be waiting with bated breath for the Apple iPhone 5 to hit the shelves so that they can arm themselves with the latest version of the popular smart phone and show off their high tech device to friends, family and colleagues.
However, according to a recent report the iPhone 5 may never make it onto the shelves in the UK due to legal action that is being considered by a rival smart phone manufacturer. According to reports, technology giant Samsung may be taking legal action over the sale of the iPhone 5 in the UK, which has sparked speculation over whether the long awaited smart phone will make it to the UK.
It is reported that Samsung believes that the new iPhone will use technology that will violate its patents, even though little is known about the phone as yet. The two firms have been engaged in legal battles over the past few months, with Apple having taking legal action against Samsung for allegedly copying its products and Samsung countersuing. Apple even managed to get the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 banned in Europe, stating that it had ripped off the Apple iPad, but this ban was later lifted other than in Germany.
Samsung now wants to get its own back and get the iPhone 5 banned in Europe, with one official from the group stating: “We are preparing aggressive legal suits against Apple, shifting away from our defensive strategy. We stand a good chance of winning the cases if we use our patents related to wireless communications standards.”
