Our increased reliance on and obsession with mobile phones as a nation has been further demonstrated after figures have shown that one third of kids aged under ten now have mobile phones.
Mobile phones are devices that most of us have become reliant on over the years, with many adults who cannot go anywhere without having their mobile phones tightly gripped in their hands or safely in their bags or pockets. A huge number of adults use their phones for all sorts of purposes these days, from texting and calling to social networking, surfing, photos and more.
However, it seems that it is not just the adults in the UK who are keen to have their mobiles on hand wherever they go. According to the results of a recent study a rising number of young kids now also have phones to carry around with them. In fact, the study showed that around one third of kids under the age of ten now have a mobile phone.
Two thousand families were polled about their technology habits as part of the research and showed that it was not just mobile phone technology that kids were keen to get their hands on. Many of the kids who have mobile phones have been given phones for security reasons by parents but many others have them just for the sake of being able to show off their latest gadget.
The research, which was carried out by Westcoastcloud also showed that around twenty five percent of kids had their own email address, around eighteen percent had a flat screen TV in the bedroom and sixteen percent had their own laptops.
