An announcement has been released by a popular mobile phone website stating that the new Motorola Backflip handset from Motorola will soon be launching in the UK.

Following its launch in the US a few months ago the Motorola Backflip, which was initially announced in January at the CES over in Las Vegas, will soon be making an appearance in the UK according to the mobile phone website.

Following successful launches in Germany and Italy it is hoped that the handset will be released in the UK as long as an operator is willing to take the device, said a spokesperson for Motorola during the launch of the Motorola Milestone XT720 earlier in the year.

Unlike most normal touchscreen devices that use a single front touchscreen the new Motorola Backflip has another touchscreen panel on the back of the device that means that users’ fingers don’t get in the way when navigating around the main touchscreen.

Once the QWERTY keyboard has been backflipped into place on the Motorola Backflip the second rear screen is revealed allowing users to use it like a trackpad on a laptop.

Included on the Motorola Backflips are technical specifications like a 528MHz Qualcomm MSM7201A processor, 512MB internal ROM memory, 256MB internal RAM memory, a 3.1 inch HVGA display touchscreen offer a resolution of 320 x 480, Android 1.5 Operating System with Motoblur, GPS, Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity and a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash.

The launch of the Flipout on the Orange network was announced by Motorola prior to this latest news on the new Backflip. The HTC Desire HD and Desire Z have also had information leaked out on mobile websites before any official announcement was made by the manufacturers.
