Preorders of the new Nokia N8 smartphone have already started through the Nokiadirect website, which is run by Mobile Phones Direct on Nokia’s behalf, with three of the UK’s mobile network providers, and line rental charges are set to start at £35 a month on a two year contract.
The deals that will be offered by Vodafone, O2 and T-Mobile will all come with a free mini HDMI TV cable, although the most attractive offer of the three is currently the £35 a month deal from T-Mobile, which offers users a sizeable monthly data download allowance, 1200 free minutes and 500 free texts.
There are also a number of other deals being offered including a package that allows users to give up 300 of their 1200 minutes on the £25 a month deal and get themselves unlimited texts. There is also a shorter 18 month contract available for users that could potentially save them as much as £630 over the length of the contract with an offer of unlimited texts and 600 minutes rather than 1200.
Similar packages are, however, being offered by both Vodafone and O2 with their packages offering unlimited texts and 600 free minutes for £35 per month. Users will also be able to go for a shorter contract and still get unlimited texts but only 300 free minutes for calls. Getting the new Nokia N8 smartphone currently comes with a 20 day waiting period for any users that preorder the device on any of these plans.
When compared with the other latest smartphones the N8 packages are slightly more expensive than the HTC Desire packages, which will soon be replaced by the new HTC Desire HD range, and are cheaper than the new Apple iPhone 4 packages.
