It has been reported that as a result of a high returns rate mobile network provider Orange has permanently withdrawn the Nokia N97 Mini.
Although the Nokia N97 is a popular smart phone one mobile network giant, Orange, refused to stock the handset as a result of it failing to meet its quality testing. However, the Nokia N97 Mini did pass this testing and was therefore made available from Orange. However, according to recent reports this situation has now changed due to returns levels of the handset.
It has been reported that Orange has permanently withdrawn the Nokia N97 Mini because of the high returns rate it has seen since December. The provider’s threshold for returns is said to be ten percent but the level of returns for the Nokia N97 Mini has now reached twenty percent, which Orange has said is too high. The company said that as a result of these returns levels Orange has been forced to stop stocking the N97 Mini handset.
An official from Orange stated: “We can confirm that Orange UK will no longer continue to range the N97 Mini as part of its existing handset portfolio. We remain committed to supporting the device for existing customers and look forward to working with Nokia in the future.”
Officials from Nokia have said that they are not aware of any software issues relating to the handset, and claim that returns of the Nokia N97 Mini have been minimal. Carphone Warehouse is also continuing to sell the N97 Mini on the Orange network, and an official from the company said that returns had been minimal, stating: “The N97 Mini has been popular and, unlike the original N97, has been relatively fine.”
