Orange customers can Tweet by phone

Following a recent deal that was struck between mobile communications giant Orange and social blogging site Twitter Orange customers will now be able to tweet from their mobiles.

As most people will know the micro-blogging service Twitter has become enormously popular over the past year, with a rising number of consumers using this service to tell others about their lives and thoughts. Even celebrities have become obsessed with tweeting, letting their fans and the general public know what they are doing, thinking, and planning.

It seems that now the mobile communications giant Orange has also jumped on board, and has signed an agreement with Twitter that will see its customers being able to tweet by mobile phone should they wish to do so. Customers will be able to receive Twitter updates via their mobile phones, and can use text messaging to tweet.

In addition to this Orange users will be the first to be able to use their mobile phone MMS facility to upload and share photographs on Twitter. The partnership between the two companies is likely to prove popular amongst Orange customers, who will now be able to enjoy easy access to Twitter without having to use special software or pay for downloads.

Orange users will be able to send direct messages to other Twitter users, and will be able to update their own tweets via text messaging, which will also be used to receive alerts. Orange is the first mobile provider to allow users to upload and share their photos via MMS, and this is through a site that has been developed by Orange, called Snapshot.
