According to a recent survey carried out by uswitch the most popular smart phone amongst UK consumers is not the Apple iPhone as many would have thought but the Samsung Galaxy S2.

When you mention smart phones to people many automatically think of the Apple iPhone. In fact, many would assume that the famous Apple iPhone was the favourite smart phone of the UK. However, a recent study has revealed that this is not the case and the UK’s favourite smart phone was actually the Samsung Galaxy S2.

The survey was carried out by switching website uSwitch and the results showed that the Samsung phone had beaten even the Apple iPhone 4 for the second month in a row, with the Apple phone coming in at second position in the top ten. The survey also showed that out of the top ten smart phones in the UK HTC smart phone models took six of the places, with Samsung, Apple, and BlackBerry taking the other four places.

An official from uSwitch, Ernest Doku, said: “Samsung can’t rest on its laurels though. The influx of feature-rich phones like the HTC EVO 3D and LG Optimus 3D, both introducing a unique glasses-free 3D viewing experience, could seriously shake things up this summer.”

He also said that things could change after Apple released its iPhone 5 later this year, so Samsung could not afford to be complacent just because it had topped the list and beaten Apple recently.
