Sony Ericsson has announced recently that the software problems that resulted in one of its recently launched smart phones being taken off sale in the UK have now been sorted out.
There has been a plethora of bad news for the mobile phone giant Sony Ericsson of late. One of the issues that hit the mobile phone manufacturer related to one of its recently launched smart phones, which it had hoped would compete with other established smart phone such as the Apple iPhone 3G in the run up to Christmas. However, these plans came to a head when the Sony Ericsson smart phone was taken off sale by major retailers in the UK.
Sony Ericsson had been hoping that the Satio would enjoy strong sales figures in the run up to Christmas. However, it was revealed that many users were experiencing problems that were put down to software issues, and because of this major sellers such as Carphone Warehouse and Phones 4 U took the Satio off sale. Shortly after this it was announced that another Sony Ericsson smart phone, the Aino, was also experiencing software problems, although officials from the firm said that this was only affecting a small number of users.
Sony Ericsson has now announced that the software problems that were affecting the Satio have now been sorted out, and that the handset should now be available for sale again. The company said that new and improved software had now been made available for both the Satio and the Aino handsets.
An official from Sony Ericsson stated: “Sony Ericsson UK and Ireland is pleased to confirm that new software is now available for both Satio and Aino. We can confirm this updated software has been approved by UK operators and fixes previous software issues.”
