Sony Ericsson mobile withdrawn by a second provider

Following the temporary withdrawal of the Sony Ericsson Satio smart phone by Carphone Warehouse a second reseller has now announced that it has taken the phone off its shelves.

It was recently reported that the mobile communications giant Carphone Warehouse had taken Sony Ericcson’s smart phone, the Satio, off its shelves on a temporary basis, and this was apparently due to software problems. According to reports this move would have come as a real blow to Sony Ericsson, which has already been struggling with financial losses.

However, there is now more bad news for the mobile phone manufacturer following news that a second major mobile phones company is taking the Sony Ericsson smart phone off its shelves. An official from Phones 4U said that the Satio had been taken off the shelves because some customers had experienced problems with the software. However, she did not provide any additional details.

Although no real explanation has been given by Sony Ericsson with regards to the problems, a spokesperson from the company did state earlier this week that a small number of consumers had experienced software problems when using the phone with certain other devices. The company also said that it was working hard to try and get the issues sorted out as quickly as possible.

Sony Ericsson has made losses for the last five consecutive quarters according to recent reports, and the removal of its smart phone from retailers’ shelves could prove very detrimental in the run up to Christmas, particularly given the stiff competition from other smart phones such as the Apple iPhone.
