Do you agree with allowing mobile phone use on planes?

Vodafone customers unhappy over data limits
By Jo Wilkes on 17th May - No Comments

Mobile network provider Vodafone recently announced that it was doing away with fair usage policies on its unlimited mobile phone internet packages and was instead capping the amount of data that users can enjoy before being charged.

Many people these days use mobile handsets such as smart phones in order to access the Internet, and there are a number of different plans available for users from a wide choice of mobile network providers, one of which is Vodafone. Many mobile phone users who spend a lot of time accessing the Internet have opted for plans that have been advertised as coming with unlimited data, as this gives them more freedom to go online, but many have been annoyed about the fair usage policy that is within these contracts, which places a restriction on their usage so that it is not unlimited in the true sense of the word.
Customers may have therefore been pleased to hear that Vodafone had decided to do away with the fair usage policy on its unlimited plans. However, what Vodafone has actually done is place a data allowance cap on these plans instead, with plans to charge customers that go over the specified data limit, which has angered consumers even more.

Vodafone has increased the prices that users will have to pay if they exceed their limit, with the charges set to come into play in June of this year. Users will be contacted by Vodafone when they are getting close to reaching their data limit, so on a brighter note they will be able to keep tabs on their usage to try and avoid these charges, but many users are still unhappy about the action that Vodafone has taken.
