It has been announced by the mobile phone giant Vodafone that it is taking the HTC HD2 smart phone off sale to general customers, as its stocks are now all gone and it has no plans to re-order.
With smart phones being all the rage these days, and rising number of consumers are keen to get their hands on one of these high tech devices, and as such a greater number of mobile phone providers are bringing out smart phones enabling consumers to enjoy a greater degree of choice. Whilst the Apple iPhone has been the main smart phone when it comes to the popularity stakes, a number of other providers have brought out similar handsets to compete against the Apple iPhone.
One of the mobile phone giants that has brought out a modern, new smart phone in time for the Christmas period is HTC, which has produced and launched its HD2 smart phone. However, whilst the HTC HD2 has received good reviews and appears to have proven popular one network providers has stated that it will no longer be offering the smart phone to its general customers.
The network provider said that whilst it had been stocking the smart phone it had now run out of supplies for general customers, and has confirmed that it will now no longer be offering the phone to general customers. Some officials have been shocked by the decision of Vodafone, as the provider was amongst the first to start stocking and selling the HTC smart phone.
Senior officials from Vodafone are said to have thought that selling the phone first would give them the edge over other providers, and would help to increase revenue. The fact that the phone giant has now decided against selling the HTC phone to the general public has given rise to speculation that the mobile phone has not generated as much revenue for Vodafone as the network provider had hoped.
