It has been claimed that many users of the Apple iPhone may be moving over to Vodafone from O2 once their contract finishes in order to try and get improved network access.
Smart phones have become very popular over recent years, and for many people these devices offer invaluable features enabling them to pretty much organise their lives, get online, keep in touch with loved ones, and much more with the touch of a screen. However, one of the concerns that have been raised with regards to users of smart phones such as the iPhone is the impact that they are having on 3G networks.
Until recently the Apple iPhone was only available through O2, as this mobile network provider had an exclusivity contract with Apple to sell the popular smart phone. This meant that iPhone users were limited to the O2 network, but for many the network was too limited according to reports.
This has resulted in many people whose O2 contracts have come to an end on the Apple iPhone deciding to move over to Vodafone in the hope of faster and wider 3G coverage. Some users are said to have found that the promises that Vodafone has made with regards to improved coverage have not been empty ones.
In a separate report O2 is also celebrating this week, after announcing that despite the increased competition that has come from Vodafone, Orange, and Tesco Mobile selling the iPhone, it has still managed to sell two million iPhones in the UK. The network provider claims that its sales will continue to be boosted as a result of it being the first to have started selling the iPhone.
