Mobiles Free

The thought of being able to get free mobiles may be an alien one to some people, but the fact is that millions of consumers get free mobiles every year from mobile phone providers. The term free mobiles is usually used in conjunction with mobile phone contracts, as providers offer free mobiles with their mobile phone contracts, excluding SIM only deals, which is where you do not get free mobiles because you are only paying for the SIM.

Are you really getting mobiles for free?

Being able to get free mobiles may seem too good to be true, and many people wonder whether they really are getting mobiles for free. Whilst the contracts that are offered by providers will claim to offer free mobiles the phone is not strictly free. Free mobiles are offered based on the contract that you take out, and generally the longer the contract period the better the free mobiles will be.

This means that with providers that offer free mobiles with their contracts you could actually get your hands on an advanced new mobile phone model either for free or for a much lower price, which could save you hundreds of pounds compared to buying the phone off the shelf. Of course, providers recoup the cost of these free mobiles by making you take a contract out for a certain period, over which you will be paying a set amount each month.

Is it worth going for contracts with free mobiles or SIM only?

With mobile phone providers you can opt for a contract with free mobiles or you can go for SIM only, which means you only get the SIM card and no mobile. There are pros and cons to both free mobiles contracts and SIM only deals.

If you consider contracts that come with free mobiles the great thing is that you could get spanking new free mobiles that could otherwise cost you hundreds of pounds. You pay a monthly amount for these contracts with free mobiles and this will include a certain amount of texts and minutes that you can use each month within the monthly price. Once your contract runs out you can then renew and choose from different free mobiles to go with your new contract, and you can give you old one away or sell it.

With SIM only deals, where you do not get free mobiles, the monthly cost is lower than with a contract that comes with free mobiles, and this has become a popular choice for many in the current financial climate. Another good thing about SIM only compared to contracts with free mobiles is that you can continue using your existing mobile, so you wont have to get used to another one, and you wont have old mobiles lying around at home, which also means environmental benefits.
