Motorola A3100 Review

Although the Motorola A3100 does use the Windows Mobile operating system, the developers have done a great job of creating an interface that is not only easier to use, but more personalized as well.

The Motorola Motosurf A3100 offers the user customizable menu pages that not only look great but also adds a lot of convenience to the Windows Mobile interface. With this interface it’s easy to move through the menu pages with a simple slide of the finger.

With the Motorola A3100 you get a 2.8-inch screen that displays pictures and graphic that are bright and colorful. In addition, the phone features a virtual QWERTY keyboard, though using the keyboard can be a little difficult due to the fact that it is a resistive touchscreen, it does include stylus, which will make using the keyboard a lot easier.

Some additional features you’ll find included with the Motorola A3100 include HSDPA/HSUPA for high-speed data transfer, as well as WiFi, and Bluetooth. There is also a built in GPS system that will give you turn by turn directions to wherever you need to go. This is a wonderful feature when you are in a place you are unfamiliar with and need to know how to get to where you are going.

This phone also has several useful applications such as Opera Mobile browser for surfing the Internet, as well as Documents To Go; with this application you can stay productive, even when away from your office or home PC. Of course you also get support for text messaging, and much more. With this smartphone staying in touch is easy.

Another useful feature of the Motorola A3100 is a built in 3-megapixel camera; with this camera you can take some basic pictures that are of okay quality, though it certainly will not replace your stand alone digital camera. You will also find that with the A3100 you get video calling, and though it’s not of the best quality, it is a fun way of making calls.

Call quality is excellent with the A3100 providing crystal clear audio. The Motorola A3100 also has a decent battery life, and with average use you should not have to recharge the battery more than every couple of days.

The Motorola A3100 is definitely a nice mobile phone that is competitively priced with other phones in its class. You will likely get some better Motorola A3100 deals if you can find a mobile provider that offers discounts for signing a contract. To purchase this phone unlocked could be a little pricey.

Some smartphones that are comparable to the Motorola Motosurf A3100 include the Asus P552w and the HTC Touch 3G. Either of these phones have many of the same features for about the same price.
