Motorola Zine ZN5 Review

The Motorola Motozine ZN5 is a combination mobile phone and digital camera; this phone is the result of a combined effort between Motorola and Kodak.

Just like many mobile phones today, the Motorola Motozine offers several features to go along with its camera. You’ll find that the Motorzine sports a 5-megapixel camera with numerous settings that are both fun, and useful.

One of the major problems with the Motorola ZN5 is that even though it comes with an exceptional camera phone, it is lacking in other areas, such as 3G, and its design.

This phone features a 2.4-inch, 320-by-240-pixel screen, with the keypad located below the screen. On the other side of the phone is the camera, and looking at it from the back it almost looks like any other digital camera. Included with the ZN5 camera is Xenon flash, and a lens cover.

Although the Motorola Motorzine ZN5 is a sturdy phone, it weighs only 4 ounces, making this phone easy to carry and less bulky than some other phones of the same class. Along with the camera, the Motorzine also features the capability of editing photos right from the phone.

Included with the Motorola Motorzine is a USB cable for easy transfer of photos to a PC, but you also have the option of using a 1GB micro SD card for this as well.

Web browsing with this Motorola phone is fairly simple, and the web pages show up clear and easy to read. While the Motorola Motorzine ZN5 connects using the T-Mobile’s EDGE quad-band network, it also features WiFi connection as well. While the connection speed is adequate, it would probably be much better with 3G.

Probably due to Motorola’s CrystalTalk technology, the call quality of the Motorola ZN5 is great on both ends. The phone also features a fairly long battery life, which is important if you are using your phone for multimedia, as well as talking and taking pictures.

The media player included with the Motorzine ZN5 is basic, but supports several file types, including WMA, MP3, and AAC, in addition, the phone also includes an FM radio feature.

Though the sound quality is good, it’s not quite what other phones of the same class offer. The video quality is not great, as the picture is somewhat blurry. It is not likely that you would want to watch a whole movie with the ZN5 video player.

This phone is a great buy if you are mostly concerned with having a great phone and camera, but it may not fit your needs if you are looking for surfing speed and high a quality multimedia player.

With the Motorola Motorzine ZN5 most of the effort has gone into the camera, and not necessarily design and extra features. There are other phones available that have better multimedia and Internet capabilities, but if all you want is a great camera and phone, the Motorzine is clearly a great choice.
