Nokia 2730 Review

The Nokia 2730 is marketed as an economic mid-range phone that offers all the basics of mobile communications, without all of the bells and whistles of today’s smartphones. Although you may not get a lot of extras with the Nokia 2730 Classic, you will get a solid and reliable mobile handset that has what you need.

This phone comes in a classic design and measures 109.6 x 46.9 x 14.4 mm, 65 cc and weighs only about 87.7 g. The Nokia 2730 comes in two colors, black or dark magenta.

With the Nokia 2730 mobile phone you get 3G, Nokia Life Tools, and Ovi Mail. This handset also features a 2-inch screen with QVGA resolution, which provides a clear and sharp display. For staying in touch you get Windows Live Messenger, plus the phone comes with Flash Lite 3.0, Voice dial.

Although the Nokia 2730 Classic focuses on basic mobile communications, you do get a few extras that make this phone more attractive. The 2730 come with a 2-megapixel digital camera that does have video recording capabilities as well, but the camera will only capture small video clips of 176×144 resolution. One problem with the camera is that it does not come equipped with flash so it does not take good pictures indoors or in poor lighting conditions.

There are even some built in entertainment features with the Nokia 2730 such as an MP3 player and an FM radio. With 32 MB of internal memory and the capability of expanding that memory up to 1 GB, there should be plenty of storage space to accommodate all of your favorite music.

Some additional applications that come with this handset include email, as well as a web browser for surfing the Internet, but you can also download more Java programs. File transfers are fairly easy with wireless Bluetooth and a USB cable.

The battery life of the Nokia 2730 Classic is fairly good, rated at 7.5 hours of talk time. Like most Nokia brand phones, the call performance is good with great sound quality.

If you are looking for a fancy smartphone that does everything, you’ll probably not be too happy with the Nokia 2730 mobile phone. Although it does come with a camera, the photo quality isn’t great, and while you do get some extras, this isn’t a feature packed phone. What you get is a good mobile phone with a few extra features, and that’s about it.

There is no doubt that it is a very nice phone for the price, and if you would like to get a great deal on the Nokia 2730, you can probably get this phone free if you sign a contract with a mobile service provider that is offering the 2730 in a package deal.
