Nokia 5230 Review

The Nokia 5230 is a new touchscreen mobile phone that features a back plate that comes in a variety of colors. This is another of Nokia’s XpressMusic phones and you’ll find that like the other Nokia XpressMusic phones, they have put a lot of emphasis on music features.

This is a fairly lightweight and compact phone measuring 52 x 111 x 16mm, and weighs about 115g. The Nokia 5230 comes with a 2-inch LCD screen, which is just smaller than average for today’s mobile phones. Below the screen you get a navigation keypad, along with another keypad below that one.

Of course due to the fact that music is the main focus of this phone, you’ll find that the music features of the Nokia 5230 are its top feature. With the music player on this handset most file formats are supported, in addition to this you get a built in FM radio. You will find that the sound quality of the music player is very high, plus you get a lot of advanced music features so you can adjust the sound to your own personal taste.

The Nokia 5230 SAR also comes with a built in 2-megapixel camera. You’ll also get some camera features such as a camera button along the side of the phone so that taking pictures is easy. This camera can also be used as a video recorder, which is a great addition to this phone. Although you probably won’t get the highest quality pictures from the camera that’s included with the Nokia 5230 touch screen, the pictures will turn out well enough.

Some of the extras you’ll find with the Nokia 5230 include GPS navigation, plus hands free speaker phone, and instant messenger so that you can easily keep in touch with friends and family with instant messages. Like a number of today’s mobile phones, you will also get a fast Internet connection with 3G, EDGE and GPRS. Unfortunately, you don’t get WLAN WiFi, but there is Bluetooth.

With the Nokia 5230 price you do get a great deal for a mobile phone, but there are a couple of things that could have made this handset far more attractive. The phone takes good pictures, but they would have been better if there had been a 3-megapixel camera included. Plus the exclusion of WiFi may really be a problem for some people who like all the high-speed connection options included with their phone.

If you are looking for a reliable mobile phone for sending instant messages and mobile calling, in addition to a good music player, the Nokia 5230 is a great choice that is also affordable if you can find the right deal.
