6301 Nokia Review
The Nokia 6301 is definitely a mobile phone that places more significant on its functions than its design. It comes in the classic candy bar shape that is very easy to use. The phone measures 4.2 inches by 1.7 inches by 0.5 inch and weights only 1.4 ounces.
The display of the 6301 Nokia is 2-inches and supports 16.7 million colors. With this screen the colors are bright and your pictures will look great. Text is also fairly easy to read so there won’t be as much squinting while reading text messages or web pages. With raised keys, the keypad is easy to use for dialing numbers and sending text messages. In addition, the keypad is backlit so using it at night is much easier.
With this mobile device you have support to keep contact information on at least a thousand different people. You can also save your contacts in groups and assign each group a photo and ringtone.
Some of the extras you get with the Nokia 6301 include text and multimedia messaging, a vibrate mode, and an alarm clock, as well as a calendar, a to-do list, notes, and a calculator, a countdown timer, a stopwatch, and a notepad, a currency and unit converter, in addition to a world clock. Along with all of these features you’ll also find that the 6301 Nokia comes with full Bluetooth, PC syncing, and USB mass storage, instant messaging, as well as a voice recorder, and POP3 e-mail. There is also speaker-independent voice dialing and commands, as well as a speakerphone.
One of the main selling points of the Nokia 6301 is its Wi-Fi capabilities, which makes making calls easy no matter where you are, and as long as you are in a hotspot, you won’t use any of the minutes off of your mobile phone plan.
There is also a 2-megapixel camera that comes with the Nokia 6301. This camera takes pictures in a variety of resolutions and some of the extras with this camera include, night and panoramic modes, and a self-timer, as well as a multi shot mode, five color effects, brightness and white balance controls, along with a digital zoom. With the camcorder you can shoot video clips with sound, and there is editing software included.
You get 30 MB of internal memory and a memory card slot that supports up to 512 MB of extra memory. Though this isn’t a lot, if you do not use a lot of memory this should be sufficient.
Aside from a couple of drawbacks, such as not a large amount of memory, and poor photo quality, the Nokia 6301 is a solid mobile phone, especially if you are looking for a mobile that offers Wi-Fi so that you can save on your mobile calls.
