Nokia 6303 Classic Review
If you are looking for a high-end phone that has a mass of new features, the Nokia 6303 is probably not the handset you want, but you will find some great updates to one of the most popular Nokia models.
With this phone you will get a design that is not a real dazzler, but is sensible and basic. Although a lot of people go for the flashy models, there is still a percentage of the population that wants a basic, but reliable mobile phone.
The Nokia 6303 Classic includes some of the high tech features that you would expect with the new handsets of today, but the Nokia 6303 Classic has focused on upgrading a basic mobile phone.
With the Nokia 6303 you won’t get 3G, but what you do get is basic tri-band GPRS/EDGE data. While looking at the features of the 6303 it’s important to remember that it isn’t a smartphone, it was designed to be basic. You won’t get GPS, or WiFi, but you will get some of the basic features that almost every phone comes with, including a music and video player, as well as a 3.2-megapixel auto focus camera, and Nokia Maps.
Nokia is known for creating some very solid phones that fall in the mid price range, and even though this is not a phone that is really going to excite those who want the latest tech gadgets, it is definitely a solidly built mobile phone. With the Nokia 6303 you get the classic candy bar design that features a 2.2-inch display with QVGA resolution and 16.7-million colors. The screen is typical of a mid range phone, and is sufficient for the needs of most users of this class of handset.
The calling and messaging features of the Nokia 6303 Classic are basic but work well. Call quality is excellent, and sending text messages and email is fairly simple as well, though if you prefer a full keyboard you won’t get it with this phone. Text is entered by way of the number keys. Both pop3 and web based email are supported so you do have the option of checking your email from your mobile. In addition, instant messages are also supported through Windows Live Messenger, which is great news for those who really like to keep in touch with friends through instant messages.
Browsing the Internet isn’t as fast as it would be if the Nokia 6303 had 3G, but you do get an HTLM capable web browser, as well as Opera Mini mobile browser. Be prepared to be patient when downloading web pages, as you will not get the same speeds as you might with the iPhone.
If you are looking for a mobile handset that offers basic, but reliable communication at a reasonable price, the Nokia 6303 is a great choice; in addition, there are many good Nokia 6303 deals available from contract service providers.
