Samsung Genio Touch Review

Although the Samsung Genio Touch is not technically a smartphone, you’ll get many of the same features that you would get with a smartphone, along with a great music player, plus the interface makes using this phone simple. The downside to the Genio Touch is that it does not come with 3G or WiFi, which could be a deal breaker for some people.

Many of the features of the Samsung Genio Touch are obviously aimed at the younger generation, including the interchangeable back, and integrated Facebook. This phone also comes in an array of bright colours, sure to appeal to the younger crowd.

For a touchscreen phone the Genio Touch is fairly small and lightweight so it is comfortable to hold in your hand. As for the user interface, you will get three home screens, along with easy access to your social networking accounts, such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Another nice feature that you get with this phone is a personalized lock and unlock feature that works with a swipe of the finger.

The Samsung Genio touch comes with all of the usual features, but with some tweaks, such as the photo phonebook. When you consider all of the features that you get with this phone, it isn’t too difficult to imagine what a smartphone would be. This phone is especially nice if you like messaging and social networking; the Genio Touch makes it simple to stay in touch with all of your online friends.

Some of the problems that you might come across with the Genio Touch include the touchscreen, which isn’t as responsive as it should be; in addition to this the display is slightly small for a touchscreen at only 2.8-inches. Another problem is that this phone lacks a QWERTY keyboard, and of course there is no 3G or WiFi. The 2-megapixel camera is also not the greatest. The low-resolution pictures tend to look a little grainy, especially when taken indoors.

The media player does work well with good sound quality, and you can expand the phone’s memory up to 8GB with a mircoSD card. The Samsung Genio Touch is basically not a phone for everyone; if you want a good camera and connectivity features like 3G and WiFi, you probably will want to look elsewhere. If the media player and other features are good enough, the Genio Touch is certainly worth looking at when shopping for your next mobile phone.
