Samsung Genio Review
The Samsung Genio is a budget friendly phone that was brought to the market with its target audience being the younger generations. Not only does this phone come in a variety of bright colors, but you can change the back plate to further create a unique look, plus if you like social networking you’ll love this phone, as it has a built in Facebook feature.
With the Samsung Genio you get a lightweight and compact mobile phone that is easy to hold in the hand, plus it is obvious that the build quality of this device is very good, which is surprising for such an inexpensive mobile.
The Samsung Genio Touch also offers an easy to use interface; you’ll get three different home screens, as well as a sidebar for your widgets. This gives you easy access to all of your favorite applications, such as Twitter, YouTube and Facebook. Your main screen will contain many of the standard tools, such as your calendar and contact menu. The contact menu is pleasant to use as you can add a picture to each contact, which makes it easy to find the person you are looking for.
With the Samsung Genio you get a 2.8-inch touchscreen, though one of the first thing you’ll notice about the screen when you begin using it is that it isn’t very responsive so it can be difficult to use. Another problem with this phone is that they have not included a virtual Qwerty keyboard; instead you will be typing out your text messages on a number keypad on the phone’s display.
Even though the Samsung Genio Touch is a mobile phone that is focused on social networking it does not come with 3G or WiFi, which is a shame as these features are often considered a necessity for a social networking phone.
You do get a 2-megapixel camera included with the Samsung Genio, but as soon as you start snapping pictures you’ll be a little disappointed as they come out dark and grainy. The video recording quality isn’t any better. Fortunately the media playback with this phone is great, and you also get a built in FM radio as part of your media package with the Genio.
To store all of your favorite music so that you can take it along with you wherever you go the Samsung Genio features a microSD slot so that you can expand the phone’s memory up to 8 GB with a microSD card.
There is no doubt that if you are looking for a budget handset that is affordable, the Samsung Genio Touch is a great deal; it’s stylish, compact and offers great media payback. On the other hand if you are really interested in a mobile phone that gives you easy access to social networking, you’ll probably want to opt for a handset that includes 3G and WiFi.
