The Samsung Tocco Lite is a mid range touchscreen phone that is being marketed as an affordable alternative. The Tocco is very similar to the LG KP 500 Cookie, as far as its size and style; it measures 104 X 53X 11.9 mm and weighs only about 93g.
Colours are bright and colourful on the Tocco’s 3-inch resistive touchscreen that makes using this display easy, you can also use stylus for selection. In addition, this handset also has handwriting recognition, plus using the screen to send text message or email is simple, though there does seem to be some accuracy issues.
The Samsung Tocco Ultra isn’t a phone that puts much focus on the camera so no doubt it won’t replace your digital camera but it will still take some good pictures. Some of the features that come with this phone are a 3.1-megapixel camera that includes smile detection, built in flash, plus it also records video. It also comes with Digital Natural Sound Engine, which gives you virtual surround sound, and with this music player you get support for MP3/WMA/AAC music file formats. In addition, you will also find that the Samsung Tocco Ultra Edition comes with a built in FM radio.
The memory capacity of this handset can be expanded up to 16 GB with a microSD card, although you must remove the battery in order to change cards. You will also find that this is a quad band phone and features Bluetooth technology, as well as USB connectivity.
With its large screen surfing the Internet is simple, plus you get access to RRS feeds, as well as some of your favorite web applications such as Google Maps, Gmail, and MySpace. With the Samsung Tocco you can also watch YouTube video right from your phone. Unfortunately you do not get WiFi or 3G, which means that although you do have access to some of these features, it will be slow. Aside from this the full HTML web browser provides for a nice web surfing experience.
With the Samsung Tocco you get a good mobile phone that does provide the user with many of the most popular features, such as a great music player, plus a camera that does take fairly good pictures. With this being a budget touchscreen phone, you don’t get some of the high-end features such as WiFi, but then again at such a low price you are not paying for these features either. If you can go without the high-speed connection, this is definitely a budget friendly phone that gives you great value for your money.
Some mobile providers may be offering this phone for free on contract, if you can find some of those great Samsung Tocco deals.
