G502 Sony Ericsson Black Review

The Sony Ericsson G502 Black is definitely a mobile phone that is targeted toward the European market. This mobile device features 2100MHz HSDPA 3G as well as tri-band (900/1800/1900MHz) GSM/EDGE connectivity.

If you are looking for an affordable HSDPA device, Sony’s G502 has been hailed as one of the least expensive Sony mobiles to offer this feature. The G502 Sony Ericsson Black is probably not the thinnest Sony handset available but it is very light. The phone measures 109mm x 46mm x 13.5mm, but weighs only about 83g.

The price for Sony Ericsson G502 is very reasonable, but you will not get the extreme high-end features that you may with an expensive phone, though the extras you do get are fairly nice. With the G502 you get a 2-inch screen with 262k colors; additionally there is a 2-megapixel camera, as well as a NetFront web browser.

One of the features of the G502 that many people find useful is the ability to get favorite RSS feed displayed on the standby screen of the phone. You also have Google Maps, as well as access to web based and Pop3 email with the Sony Ericsson G502 mobile. Some other features that are great to have include Bluetooth, as well as a built in FM radio.

Using the web with this mobile device is easy and fast. Web pages load quickly, and downloading files is no trouble at all. This is definitely a mobile phone meant for those who like to take the Internet with them when they are on the go.

Although the G502 does come with 32 MB of internal memory, this can be expanded, as there is a slot for a memory card. The battery life of this mobile phone is average and provides approximately 9 hours of GSM talk time or 4.5 hours of 3G talk time with about 2 weeks of standby time. This is of course dependent on the amount of time spent using the extra features.

The Sony Ericsson G502 Black does have some drawbacks, such as the camera. The camera that comes with the G502 is very basic, and offers few extras at all. This camera will take pictures, but they will not be as high quality as some camera phones can produce.

The G502 also features a fairly good music player that supports some of the most popular file formats.

If you are looking for a mobile phone at a reasonable cost, but still featuring some great options, the Sony Ericsson G502 Black is worth looking at.
