Sony Ericsson G705

Sony Ericsson G705 Review
There is nothing all that innovative or exceptional about the Sony Ericsson G705. This is really your average mid range phone that does offer a variety of features, though nothing different. If you are simply looking for a good mobile phone at a reasonable price, you’ll probably like the Sony G705, as it does offer quite a lot at a budget price.
With the Sony Ericsson G705 you get a stylish and compact phone; this handset measures 95 x 47 x 14.5 mm and weighs only 98g, which is the perfect size for slipping into your pocket. If you like sleek and slim phones, the Sony G705 does fit the bill, though you may find that other slider phones are a little slimmer, such as the Nokia E66.
The G705 is designed with a 2.4-inch display that includes and ambient sensor, plus you get a video call camera that is located just above the display. You will also find a 3.2-megapixel camera with a LED flash located on the back of the handset. With this camera you get some fairly good quality photos, despite the fact that it does not include auto focus. Aside from this, you will find that it does offer a variety of settings that make taking pictures with this camera fun and easy. In addition to the still camera, it can also record video.
You will also get great call quality with the Sony G705. Calls are clear and reception is better than average. Some extras you’ll find included with this handset are GPS navigation, along with Google Maps. There are also several connectivity options such as GPRS class 10, HSCSD, and EDGE class 10. Of course there is also 3G HSDPA, USB v2.0, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth v2.0. For browsing the Internet there is the Netfront 3.4 HTML browser, which works sufficiently well, though it would be much nicer to use the Opera mobile browser.
The battery life of the Sony Ericsson G705 is rated for 10 hours of talk time and a standby time of approximately 400 hours. Again, this is average for mobile phones of similar features.
There is no doubt that you get a great list of features and a nicely designed mobile phone with the Sony Ericsson G705, and it is reasonably priced. This phone would have been much better if they had included an improved camera and a superior build quality. The final word on the Sony G705 is that although it does offer a lot of functionality, it is just average. As this is marketed as being a budget mid range phone, finding some great Sony Ericsson G705 deals should be simple.
