Sony Ericsson Pureness Review

The new Sony Ericsson Pureness is a unique phone offered at an extravagant price. This very expensive phone is so unique because it has a completely clear screen. Despite being clear, the monochrome 1.8-inch display is really not difficult to see at all, at least in the dark.

One thing that will be evident right from the start is that the Sony Ericsson Pureness phone is a slightly bulky, and not really one of those sleek attractive designs that are so popular today, but it does look really interesting when use it in the dark. Because of its unique screen, you’ll find it a lot more difficult to actually see what’s on the screen when in direct sunlight.

This phone is very lightweight, weighing only 70g. As for call quality there is no problem there, as the Sony Ericsson Pureness does provide great reception and call sound quality. Another unique feature you’ll find with this phone is that the numbers on the keys are invisible when the phone is switched off. The keys on this phone are easy to use for imputing text, though they may be a little cramped for people with large hands.

Of course the main focus is the clear screen, but there is a lot more to this handset than that. The Sony Ericsson Pureness offers a variety of features and applications as well. Some of what you’ll find with this phone include an FM radio, Java, as well as email. There is also support for Exchange ActiveSync for e-mail.

Another very unique feature of the Pureness is that it comes with personal concierge service, which means that you can have technical help on demand, but it’s a lot more than this. This service will actually book reservations for you if you want to see a movie or eat at a particular restaurant.

There is little doubt that the Sony Ericsson Pureness is more of a toy than an actual useful device, as the limitations on visibility would not make this a practical choice as a business mobile. The Pureness is marketed as a phone to use at night, and its design offers easy access to the SIM card so that you can easily switch between phones, but then again the price tag on this phone really makes it impractical.

If you want a phone to use as a toy, then the Sony Ericsson Pureness is a good choice, especially if you have a lot of money lying around that you don’t need. On the other hand, if you want a phone that is useful and affordable at the same time, this probably would not be a good choice, at least not as your primary phone.
