Sony R300 Review
The Sony Ericsson R300 is a mobile phone that can also be used as an AM/FM radio. This handset is not the top of the line in mobile communications, so may not be too attractive to most people, though it is marketed more toward developing countries. This phone comes in a basic candy bar design that has nothing outstanding to call attention to it. One of the most interesting features of the R300 is Track ID, which allows the user to find out the names of songs. There is also the ability to take partials from songs on the radio to use as ringtones.
When you turn it over you’ll find that on the back of the Sony Ericsson R300 is a radio receiver and a speaker. There are also buttons located on the back of the phone that enable you to set your favorite stations so that you do not have to locate them each time you turn on your radio.
On the side of the Sony Ericsson R300 you’ll find little knobs, with these you can stand the phone on its side. When stood on one side the phone actually resembles a radio and not a phone. Though the R300 does come with a radio, there is no built in movie player. The camera that comes with this handset is very basic, and will likely only be good for those pictures that you absolutely don’t want to miss, although it would likely be better if you did carry your camera along with you as apposed to using this phone camera.
With that said, you do get a couple of extra features that will make this budget phone a little more tolerable such as WAP web browser as well as Bluetooth. A stereo wired headset is also included when you purchase a Sony Ericsson R300. In addition, you get games, email, and SMS capabilities.
If this phone is lacking in features it does make up some ground by being a very lightweight and compact handset that measures 101 X 46 X 12 mm and weighs only 75g. The battery life for the R300 is rated for 9 hours of talk time and 17 days of standby time.
As this is a budget friendly phone you can easily get it at a greatly reduced price or possibly even free on contract if you can find the right Sony Ericsson R300 deals.
Although this is not the phone for you if you are wanting something high tech with the most advanced features, it is certainly a good deal if you need something to fit your budget.
