Sony Ericsson R306 White Review
The Sony Ericsson R306 White is a different type of mobile; unlike many mobile phones that offer a variety of features, the main attribute of the R306 is its radio. Although the built in AM/FM radio is this phone’s main feature, it does have a few other things to offer as well.
With the Sony Ericsson R306 White you will also get a 1.3-megapixel camera, in addition to Bluetooth technology and USB connectivity. When closed, this phone resembles a portable radio, which is fitting, as that is exactly what it is. You are actually getting a portable radio with a phone and basic camera added to the mix.
Aside from its lack of quality features, one of the first places you’ll be able to tell that the Sony Ericsson R306 White is a lower, mid range phone is when you begin looking at the user interface. The interface is nowhere near the same standard as that of most Sony Ericsson mobiles. The phonebook stores up to 1000 contacts, which is about average for most mobile phones today, and although you will get basic text messaging with this phone, there is no support for email.
If you are looking for a multimedia mobile phone you’ll probably want to pass up the Sony Ericsson R306 White; although you do get a built in radio there is no music player. In addition, this handset only comes with 5 MB of internal memory with no way of expanding that memory. This is insufficient for the way people use their mobile phones these days.
The camera that is included with the R306 will be good enough to take basic pictures, but if you are looking for quality photographs you won’t get them with this camera phone. As the radio is the main selling point of this phone, it is a little surprising that the radio reception isn’t all that great at times and you may have problems with static.
Some additional features that you’ll find with the Sony Ericsson R306 White include game play, as well as a basic web browser that does support HTML, though it does not handle all web pages. You will also find a few organization tools such as a calendar and alarms, plus a calculator.
With the many Sony Ericsson R306 White deals available you can get this already inexpensive phone at a big discount, but it is a good idea to keep in mind that it is a budget phone, and lacks in features. Considering the quality of the features that it does come with, it would be difficult to recommend the R306 over other budget phones.
