Sony Ericsson X10 Review

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is an Android smartphone that features a huge, 4-inch capacitive touchscreen. With the X10 being equipped with the 1 GHz Snapdragon processor; this is one of the most powerful smartphones available by Sony Ericsson. Unlike many other smartphones, the main focus of the Xperia X10 is in its multimedia and Internet features.

If you want a dainty and compact mobile, you won’t get it with the Sony Ericsson X10; this phone measures 119 x 63 x 13 and is one of the largest mobile phones being sold today. Due to the fact that this phone’s size could turn off some people, Sony has made available a couple of new versions of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 that are smaller; these include the Xperia X10 Mini Pro and the Xperia X10 Mini.

There is no doubt that one of the main attractions of the Xperia X10 is its incredible screen. You do get a sharp and colorful display, plus it is very sensitive and easy to use. One drawback is that it doesn’t support multi-touch so you cannot zoom into web pages with a pinch and zoom function.

With the high quality processor that comes with the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 you won’t have to deal with lag; the operating system and applications run with no problems. To store your files, the X10 does offer 1 GB of internal memory, which is fantastic but you can also expand the phone’s memory up to 16 GB with a microSD card.

For connectivity options the Sony Ericsson X10 comes with Bluetooth, as well as 3G and WiFi. An additional feature that is included with this phone is a mobile web browser for surfing the Internet, though it does not support flash. You will also get access to streaming video content on the YouTube application that comes with the X10.

To access your email the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 supports POP3 and IMAP email accounts, as well as Gmail. With this many email options you will never have to worry about not having access to your email accounts.

In addition to all of these features, the Xperia X10 comes with a built in 8-megapixel camera that includes a lot of extras, such as LED flash and face detection, plus many more. The photo quality is very good, especially for pictures taken in good lighting.

The battery life of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 isn’t so great; with average use this phone will require daily charging, but this is likely due to the number of features that are onboard. Unfortunately, call quality isn’t up to what it should be, voices sound a little tinny.

There are few mobile phones that offer better Internet and multimedia features so if this is what you want in a phone, you will love the Xperia X10.
